Loaf reads the same event stream FRIGG already watches. It never queues: the newest event replaces the last, so it is never more than one beat behind you. The one move it never skips is the first one.

Twelve parts. Seven motors. No face.

The eyes are two LED matrices under a translucent patch of shell. Unplug it and the cat is a matte ceramic object with two ears. The lime is the only color that is not the shell.

Two colors, one mold.

The stripes are not painted. They are 0.4 mm into the shell, so Tabby and Ash come off the same tool. Tabby is the cat from the app. Ash is for desks that are already loud.

FRIGG on your Mac tails the session log and picks the gesture. Loaf just moves. The bridge that drives the simulator drives the hardware with one flag removed.

Questions

Does it listen all the time?

No. The mics are wired to the Mac, and FRIGG only transcribes while the session is active and you have turned listening on. Unplugged, there is no power to listen with.

Why no screen?

A screen makes it a gadget. Two eyes under a shell make it a thing on your desk. The four expressions it has are the same four the app's pet has, and they turned out to be enough.

Will it work without FRIGG?

It talks a small serial protocol, so anything can drive it. But the gesture vocabulary was written for coding sessions, and that is where it earns its place.

Is this a real product?

Not yet. As of September 2026 it is a design study for what FRIGG would be as an object. The prices are targets, the renders are renders, and the mechanism has only run in a simulator. Whether it gets built depends on how many people want one, which is what the list below is for.
