What is FRIGG?
FRIGG is a macOS app you talk to while you debug. You say what is going wrong; it transcribes as you speak, ranks the likely root causes, and hands you the cheapest next check — the one test that eliminates the most possibilities for the least work. When you stop, Recap turns the session into notes and a standup draft. It is rubber duck debugging where the duck answers.
How is that different from typing the problem into ChatGPT or Claude?
You speak instead of typing, so describing the bug costs you nothing and you do it while you are still confused. FRIGG also takes one screenshot when you ask, so the answer is about the error actually on your screen rather than your summary of it. And it keeps the whole session: at the end there are notes and a standup draft, which a chat window does not give you.
What does FRIGG cost?
Your first three sessions are free, on our keys, with no card and nothing to set up. Pro is $12 a month or $96 a year, and includes 20 hours of speech a month and as many pets as you like. There are fourteen days free before the first charge, and you can cancel any time.
Do I need my own OpenAI API key?
No. Both plans run on our keys. There is nothing to configure before your first session.
Which Macs does FRIGG run on?
macOS 11 and up, on both Apple Silicon and Intel. The app is signed and notarised by Apple, so there is no unidentified-developer block on first launch.
Does FRIGG listen all the time?
No. The microphone opens when you press Start and closes when you press Stop. Silence is dropped before it reaches any model — transcription only runs on detected speech — so leaving the app open all day costs cents. It never listens because the app is merely open.
Does FRIGG show up in my screen shares?
Not by default. macOS hides the FRIGG window from screen sharing, recordings and screenshots from the first launch; you still see it on your own display. The Detectable switch in the header puts it back on screen when you want to demo it.
What leaves my Mac?
Audio goes to OpenAI using a short-lived credential; your prompts and the relevant transcript pass through our API to OpenAI. We do not store transcripts, prompts, answers, audio or screenshots. What we keep per account is your email, your subscription status from Stripe, three monthly counters, and the words you typed to describe your pet. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
Can FRIGG see what I built with Claude Code?
If you let it. A session where you built for hours with an agent and said little out loud would otherwise recap from an almost empty transcript. FRIGG can offer to read Claude Code's log for the hours that session covered and write the notes from what you built. It asks first, reads only that session's window, and drops tool results — file contents and shell output — entirely.
Where are my session notes stored?
In a file on your own Mac, under ~/.frigg/. Point FRIGG at your own Supabase project and they go there instead. Either way they are yours, and deleting a session in the app deletes it.
What is the pet?
On first launch you describe a desk buddy in your own words and FRIGG draws it. When you go quiet for a minute the window becomes that pet, napping in the corner. It is still listening; click it to bring the window back.
How do I cancel?
From inside the app, on the account you signed in with. Cancellation and refund handling are set out on the refunds page.
